Bob paid tribute to the queen of country music, Loretta Lynn, who died this week at 90. Then Cori Wolff of the Longworth-Anderson Series joined us to talk about three big shows in October – Calexico, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, and the Lone Bellow. One glitch comes during the two Neil Young songs near the start, but just turn the sound up for those.

Eureka! After more than 8 years on the air, Bob and Bill have entered the 21st century by going digital in the studio. Hopefully, this will eliminate many of the glitches, at least during the live broadcast, but we promise not to remove the human errors that are part of the charm.

Bob and BS&B’s Fifth Beatle, Jack Greiner, mucked around in the deep Mississippi mud that is the sordid, rumored history of “Ode to Billie Joe” and sang the praises of its woefully under appreciated author Bobbie Gentry. For good measure, they added Orville Peck’s cover of “Fancy.” They also played two cuts from Delta Sweete. Her masterpiece. Yes, masterpiece.

Bob spent an inordinate amount of time deconstructing the Bread song “The Guitar Man” as interpreted by Cake. Everything else was about hot weather or global warming, sometimes both. Finally, he paid tribute to two siblings of folks close to the show who passed on recently.
