Bob is out of town this week, but that doesn’t mean Bill is all by his lonesome in the studio. His new favorite musician Maria Carrelli joins him in the studio to talk about her new album “Strings on My Guitar” and to play a few songs. Listen in and Maria will be your new favorite musician, too.

Bill discovers Maria Carrelli at a Shake It Records showcase prior to her album release on April 12. She will visit the studio April 10 to preview “Strings on My Guitar” and talk about her musical journey from Mariemont to Ludlow.

The tributes to surf guitar legend Dick Dale, who died at 81 this week, came from around the world, and we featured three of his early tunes. In addition, Bill previewed his trip to Baltimore to see Fleetwood Mac with Neil Finn of Crowded House and Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.

Bob returns from Arizona jacked about meeting Hall of Famer Marty Brennaman while Bill recounts his trip down the YouTube rabbit hole following the the death of Hall of Famer Hal Blaine, the 90-year-old drummer of the Wrecking Crew, the group of Los Angeles session players who defined pop music in the ’60s and ’70s.

Jim Blase, co-owner of the Cincinnati treasure Shake It Records with his brother, Darren, talks about the Northside shop’s 20th anniversary celebration during the month of March. Bill pays tribute to some of the folks who have played at in-store appearances, including the Indigo Girls, Lilly Hiatt and Joan Shelley.

Celebrity guest night entered its third straight week when Kelly Thomas and Randy Steffen of Wilder stopped by to play songs from and talk about “Pick Your Poison,” the band’s first full-length album. Bob says hello to his new friends at the Milton Tavern and waxes philosophic about meeting two people from Mongolia in the past three weeks. And if all that isn’t enough, Bob is off to bask in the wonderfullness that is Reds spring training where hope springs eternal that he’ll finally make the team. At the very least, he plans to meet the Hall of Famer, Marty Brennaman. We’re sure Marty will have some on air tips for the guys.
