Bob and Bill have a theory that the unusually warm weather has been responsible for people not only being nicer but also having more patience with each other. Maybe it’s not the weather. Maybe more and more people have been tuning in to Blue Snakes & Banjos. And maybe the show’s witty repartee and excellent music are the real reasons people are feeling good.

Sounds like Bob is having a lively conversation with himself. And while that’s the best way to get the answers you want, Bill was actually in the studio with him…grappling with a temperamental microphone. Fret not, they eventually got it to work. Technology can be a fickle thing.

John McCarthy host of The Great Pacific Garbage Patch here on WAIF joins Bob and Bill in the studio for show number two. With the Grammys having been broadcast just days before, the guys played songs from some of the winners they like. From the annals of “It’s About Time”, this year’s winner for best rock song was “Good Times, Bad Times” by Led Zeppelin. Nothing like being 45 years late.

Today the radio landscape in Cincinnati was changed for the better with this first show of Blue Snakes & Banjos. Bob and Bill kicked off the show with “Komm, gib mir deine Hand”, the Beatles German language version of “I Want to Hold Your Hand”. With this one simple act they: paid tribute to the German music show they replaced; paid homage to Cincinnati’s German history; and showed a wit, humor, and love of music that will be the foundation of every show.
