While Bob was preparing to visit Jorma Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Ranch Saturday to see Dave Alvin and the Guilty Ones, Bill celebrated the Fourth of July holiday early with Alvin’s classic tune.
Bill returned after more than a month away to spread good news and good music that included a tribute to Doug Sahm from Son Volt’s new album and a classic Sir Douglas Quintet tune.

Texts poured in praising those tunes, so he stuck with it until closing the show with Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground,” a top hit of 1973 (50 years ago).

Bob saluted Roger Daltrey on his 79th birthday while Bill previewed artists coming to the area soon, including Daniel Donato, Angela Perley, Brit Taylor, Olivia Ellen Lloyd and Bruce Springsteen.
Bob and Bill teamed up to pay tribute to Burt Bacharach, who died at 94, and to celebrate last year’s inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while pimping for their favorites in this year’s fan voting.
