Bob wished everybody a happy holiday with an eclectic selection of Christmas songs, while Bill teased next week’s show that will feature his favorite albums of 2023.
Bob and guest host webmaster extraordinaire John Tarvardian, a wizard, a true star, mixed it up. Bob honored Hugo Perotti, Dave Brubeck and Robb “the Guitar Man” Royer on their birthdays, while John played some sets of songs to surprise us. Bob and Bill saluted English blues trailblazer John Mayall on his 90th birthday, and said goodbye to Jean Knight, who topped the charts in 1971 with “Mr. Big Stuff.”
Bob played some favorite records and celebrated the election results and Rickie Lee Jones’ 69th birthday, while Bill hunkered down at home to avoid the Suits. Deadstring Brothers, Motel Mirrors, and Jorma were just a few of the happening tracks.
Bob and Bill were in the studio for the first time in a month and spent a lot of time chirping about politics, the show’s FunRaiser and sports, but managed to pay tribute to Rudolph Isley, one the founding members of the band from Cincinnati.
